What is a tachograph expert report and what is it for?

It is an official technical document issued by an expert witness (judicial expert) who analyses the data recorded by the tachograph. It serves as key evidence in court to prove objective facts: actual working hours and times, both for the defence of operators and of workers.

Is it useful for claiming overtime or pay differences?

Yes, it is the gold-standard evidence. We analyse the driver's activity and break down what counts as "driving time", "other work" and "availability", and apply the relevant collective agreement to calculate the exact monetary amount.

What is the difference between availability hours and effective working time?

This is the key to most disputes. Effective work counts towards ordinary working time and overtime. Availability (period of availability) is paid differently and does not count towards the maximum working time limit. Our report distinguishes these times correctly under the applicable rules.

Can old analogue charts also be analysed?

Yes. We have high-resolution scanning technology to digitise paper charts and extract minute-by-minute activity with microscopic precision.

Does the expert witness have to attend court?
