Will I have to do a driving test?

Some hauliers may want to see first how you handle the lorry, or how you perform certain manoeuvres such as reversing onto their loading bay. We would arrange the day of the test.

If I have to relocate, who pays for it?

Normally the worker covers their own relocation and accommodation in the new place of work, but if you need it, we can also negotiate with the haulier so they give you a hand during those first weeks.

How do I prove experience if I come from another country?

Letters of recommendation, payslips, certificates, employment history, route record and training. Check qualification recognition if you come from outside the EU.

Does the haulier provide ongoing training?

Hauliers are required to retrain you periodically, and it will have no cost for you or for the company if done through FUNDAE. Ask your employer and we will handle the whole process FREE of charge.

What documents do I need for the interview?

ID/Residence card, required driving licences, tachograph card if applicable, ADR (Hazardous goods) if applicable, points certificate, employment history and references.

Who loads and unloads?

Those details will be set out in your employment contract and you will have to negotiate it directly with the haulier.

Where can I check reviews on hauliers?

Driver forums and groups. And, of course, the assurance that the hauliers we work with have passed a prior filter and are top in the sector. We have been working with them for many years.

Does this process cost me anything?

Of course not. We will never charge you a penny, and it would be illegal for the haulier to ask you for any payment.

How long will it take me to find a job?

It depends on your profile and the requirements you ask for. We offer different profiles to the hauliers and they decide on hiring. On average, you will already have interviews with hauliers within the first two weeks.

Is my application public? Could my current employer find out?

Your profile is published on a portal that is accessible only to our thousands of clients. You will not appear on Google or LinkedIn, and we will not publish your request anywhere outside EuroDriver, which is a space controlled by us.

Are you a trade union?

We are not a trade union. We are a company that connects drivers with hauliers. If you have any employment dispute, you should contact your union representative or an employment lawyer. We can also advise you on that.

Who handles all the paperwork at the time of hiring?

We have a department for this, although in many cases the haulier prefers to do it in-house. Either way, you will not have to worry about it.

Can I negotiate my employment contract and terms with them?

Absolutely. The haulier may like your profile but not other expectations you have. You can reach a private agreement on financial terms, working conditions or work-life balance.

How do I negotiate wages and bonuses?

You first tell us how much you want to earn, and we then offer your profile to several hauliers that match what you are looking for. If a proposal does not work financially, it may still suit you for other reasons. We will never force you to accept any offer.

Is my position secure once I sign?

Once you have signed the employment contract, and given that the haulier has already shown interest in your profile, we can assure you that if you are professional you will not have any kind of problem.

Can I see the employment contract beforehand?

Of course, it is your right and you can sign a pre-contract setting out the full details of your final contract.

How do I choose between several offers?

It is a very personal choice and will depend on your financial and family situation. Whether you value being close to family, working longer hours, or the type of route. Every professional is different.
